Rocky Night was a major fundraising event that we held at the end of the first year of operations.  Rather than wine and dine our guests and patrons, we chose to put on a performance that was experimental, bold, and tongue in cheek.  For the performance we built giant boxes that moved and opened in the space.  Inside the boxes were musicians that started playing inside the closed boxes, providing a mysterious feel to the performance.  When the boxes opened, they revealed not only the performers but also “magic rocks” that we auctioned off as part of the fundraiser.  In a tongue and cheek performance played the roles of snake-oil salesmen trying to sell these rocks as magical objects that would fix everyone’s problems. This referred to the initial sentiment in the community that because we came from Brooklyn we would be able to fix the Adams ourselves.  The night was a successful exercise raising money and giving everyone a fun time.
