A Class A office building in the heart of Bucharest, Romania, the Dorobanti Office building is a showpiece building for its tenants.  As such, it is made to be efficient, beautiful, and pleasurable. To achieve this we designed with an eye towards the details.  From the materials and tile patterns, to the lighting and balconies, every aspect of this building was thought through at its highest level.

The building really starts its life after construction, but few remember what happens during this essential phase when things are put in the right place. But sometimes pieces don’t come together like they’re drawn.  When regulations only let you pour concrete at night and your MEP engineer is also your contractor, the building you get might be a meter off in places. Architecture is not only the design of space, but it is also the bringing of that space from idea to reality, through all its stages. Each of these stages has its challenges that designers must navigate.
