The offices for the non-profit organization The Future Project combined two primary concepts, flexibility and inspiration.  We took our design idea from a photo of Manhattan covered with clouds.  The city became our flexible, ever changing office space and the clouds were translated almost literally into a ceiling sound absorbing feature that would create an ideal quiet space to work in small groups or individually while also providing a visual inspiration for those using the space.

The cloud feature was fabricated in partnership with the acoustical company EzoBoard.  We worked with them to create a design that provides the maximum area of sound absorption and met our desire to make something that was sculptural and lightweight to hang in the main space of The Future Project.

For the flexible aspects of the office we partnered with 618 Design, a local fabricator.  They were able to make bleachers, desks, and whiteboard platforms that all came together and apart to create both collaborative and individual working environments based on the daily needs of the company.
