Cordoba House is a Islamic Cultural Center concept created by American Society for Muslim Advancement (ASMA), a non-profit in NYC. ASMA wanted renderings to be included in their fundraising efforts. To provide renderings for a project where there is no program or site yet is difficult. Instead, the project was reframed as a 3-month investigation on a new typology of cultural center.

Research on contemporary Religious Cultural Centers (JCC, YMCA and etc) provided program. The team also examined historic Islamic Cultural Centers from which we derive the idea of a vertical public landscape to create an open, vibrant and welcoming space.
