The Diaspora Table is designed as a place for old friends to meet.  It is based on a small community of people that have known each other for their whole lives and come together at this table once a year to celebrate and renew that friendship.  The process looked at photographs from previous years celebrations and abstracted them into the final form.  The top of the table was designed by how people gathered together in groups and the legs were modeled by the conversations that were being had in the photos.  These were then run through computational modeling software and fabrication sheets were created to allow for building the table.
